Ultra R766

  

The Ultra R766 is an a.c/d.c mains/battery valve radio, which was made in 1952. It has long/medium wave band reception. The batteries for these radios are now long obsolete.
The valves used in this receiver are as follows:- 1C1, 1F3, 1FD9, 1P11.
The R766 model is pending future repairs, the metal rectifier (for mains operation) requires replacement by a silicon type plus resistor.
The dial scale backing on these radios tends to flake with age, so a cosmetic make-over is due on the dial.
The control knobs and slider are quite brittle and prone to breakage. It took quite a while to obtain the wave change slider knob (original was missing).
